Format for the interview

Thank you for considering being interviewed on As Told By Childless Women series!  

Your voice is important to us, and we want to hear — and share — your story. 


Once you’re accepted as a guest on the series, we’ll get you scheduled for a date/time to interview. We’ll email you a link to the interview, which will be recorded in video + audio format. If you have a professional microphone setup, that’s great! If not, your laptop/desktop will be fine.


The interview usually lasts approximately 15-30 minutes but may be longer or shorter depending on the topic being discussed. We won’t be recording right when you join the interview. We’ll be checking that all of our equipment is on and working properly, adjusting sounds levels, etc. first. Once that’s all set, we’ll start recording.

Technical aspects of recording

Joining the Interview: 

Please find a quiet place with good lighting to join the interview. We’ll be recording with one of several possible services such as Zoom. You do NOT need to download it on your computer or login prior to the interview.  


Make sure you have the following:


A laptop or desktop with a webcam and mic.
A recent version of Chrome or Firefox.
A strong internet connection. Just like Skype, you must have a strong internet connection for it to work well. If possible, connect to your router with an ethernet cable instead of using WiFi.
If you don’t have a laptop or desktop, then you can join on your phone, but the experience is usually best on a laptop/desktop. On Android, we recommend the Chrome browser. On iOS, you must use Safari.
